A Public House, in the Truest Sense.

Good food, good company, and a place to settle in. Join us on Main Street for American bistro cooking, well-made cocktails, and the pleasure of gathering.

Our Story

Rooted in Beacon. Made for Gathering.

Lyonshare is the work of owner Bud Schmeling, whose years in New York hospitality run through Black Betty in Williamsburg, Peter Luger, and Gage & Tollner. On Main Street, the idea is a simple one: honest food, a well-made drink, and a room where the neighborhood feels at home.

The name tips its hat to Captain John Lyon, a nineteenth-century Hudson River boat captain who gave his passengers safe passage across the water. We like to think of the house the same way.

American bistro cooking with steaks at the heart of it: steak frites, a 12 oz New York strip, and a 28 day dry-aged prime porterhouse for two.

  2. A stack of pancakes with fresh berries, mint and maple syrup on a wooden table in the sun.

Saturday and Sunday, 11 AM to 3 PM

    Weekend Brunch

Slow mornings on Main Street with Turkish eggs, the Sweet Stack, a Benedict with nduja, and a Hudson Mimosa to start.

  3. A cocktail, a burger and fries, and a cup of soup on Lyonshare’s marble bar.

    At the bar

    Cocktails & Good Company

A long marble bar, house cocktails like the Lyonshare Manhattan and the Ancient Mariner, and a draft list that runs from Guinness to Hudson North cider.

Lunch is served Thursday and Friday, 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
